Laboratory for Parallel Information Processing (Lab.1315)

1315-4_.jpg

The lab is equipped with newer computers and connects to a high-speed Internet connection. Computers in the "Information Processing Platform" connect to remotely accessible high-performance computing platforms: "IBM Blade Center" and "Linux-based PC Selector with 1000 kernel general configuration; and Grid technologies ". The workstations in the room are also terminals of the most powerful high-performance computer system in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian supercomputer IBM BlueGene / P, located in the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and with 8192 cores and 23.42 Tflops performance. In the course of the exercises, which are conducted in the Parallel Information Processing Laboratory, students are trained in the field of high-performance computer architectures and applications and have access to the most powerful high-performance computer platforms in Bulgaria.

The lab has the following specialized hardware: 3D system - NVidia GeForce GTX 480 and high-end 3D glasses, 480 kernels, graphics clock 700 MHz, processor clock 1401 MHz, memory clock 1848 MHz, memory Interface 384-bit, total available graphics 3069 MB, dedicated video memory 1536 MB GDDR5. The purpose of the "3D System" located in the Parallel Processing Laboratory is to visualize data from high-performance simulations performed on computer clusters and the Bulgarian supercomputer IBM BlueGene / P.
