Analog electronics

The educational and scientific section "Analog Circuits and Systems" (originally "Electronic Amplifiers and Signal Generators") under the Department of "Electronic Engineering" was established in 1965 within the Faculty of Radio Electronics at VMEI - Sofia. Today, one full-time professor, one associate professor three assistants,  and students from specialty Electronics work at the educational-scientific field "Analog Circuits and Systems". In 2009 the laboratory "Analog Circuits and Systems" was named after Prof. Ph.D. (Dr.) Eng. Vasil K. Zlatarov, first head and co-founder of the Department of Electronic Engineering. Since 2006 the head of the laboratory is Assoc. prof. Dr. Ivaylo M. Pandiev. In its activity, the laboratory "Analog Circuits and Systems" integrates the experience and knowledge of lecturers, Ph.D. students, and students from the Technical University of Sofia, as well as leading specialists in the industry in the field of analog electronics and digitally controllable analog modules and systems. In the last ten years, laboratory staff members have participated in more than twenty scientific projects with national or international funding. In the laboratory are training doctoral students in the program "Electronic Circuits and Electronic Circuit Engineering Theory" from Professional field 5.2. Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Automation.
The laboratory is equipped with modern measurement devices for performing experimental testing on electronic modules and systems, as well as performing computer simulations. The laboratory has four to six working places for the practical work of students and two places for Ph.D. students. In addition, to perform the experimental study by students with sample electronic circuits, a large number of laboratory systems and kits have been developed, covering the entire topics of lectures training in all courses within the scientific section. The technical equipment of the laboratory includes functional generators, analog and digital oscilloscopes, stationary and portable digital multimeters, adjustable power supplies, development electronic systems, personal computers with specific measurement interfaces, etc.
The laboratory maintains close relations with all companies in Bulgaria, working in the field of analog electronics and microelectronics.
