Participate in NASA's global Space Apps Challenge tech competition

On October 20-21, 2018 Bulgaria will participate for the sixth consecutive year in the NASA International Space Apps Challenge.

The goal of the competition is to provide an opportunity and encourage innovative thinkers, talented and ambitious people of all ages to compete and contribute to solving global problems. Space Apps Challenge 2018 will be held simultaneously in over 130 different cities around the world. This year in Bulgaria, the competition will be held in Sofia, Burgas, Plovdiv and RuseBulgaria will compete in the global finals with 8 projects – the top two solutions from each location, as determined by the local jury. The biggest surprise of this year's NASA competition in Bulgaria is the SPECIAL AWARD, which will be announced before the competition!

The Space Apps Challenge 2018 is held with the support of partner organizations and sponsors. Technical University – Sofia, Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management (FaGIOPM) is hosting the competition in Sofia. In Plovdiv, the competition will take place at TU-Sofilia, Plovdiv branch. Teams of all ages can participate, with no restrictions on team members. This year, the focus of the challenges will be on the Earth and Space categories.

Participants will have 48 hours on October 20-21 to develop and present a project at a conceptual level, prototype level, or as a completed solution. Solutions can include: mobile applications, software, hardware, data visualization, problem-solving platforms, and other ideas, contributing to space exploration and helping improve life on Earth.
