ESTIEM LG Sofia organized two events at the Technical University - Sofia

ESTIEM LG Sofia organized an exchange with the Darmstadt local group, Germany, from April 3 to 8, 2025. The event, organized by the Sofia local group with project leader Didi Todorova (local coordinator of ESTIEM LG Sofia), aimed to bring together students from both cities and show them how each of them lives and studies. During the exchange, the two groups shared useful practices and knowledge to enrich and develop their understanding of Bulgarian culture.

At the official opening, held on April 3, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Radoslav Deliyski delivered a ceremonial address to the students, wishing for many more such successful projects that foster personal and cultural development. The program continued with a presentation on Bulgarian history, traditions, and language, delivered by Didi Todorova.

Over the next few days of the exchange, the two local groups visited several of the capital's cultural treasures, including the National Historical Museum, which houses our magnificent millennium-long history, and the National Art Gallery - The Palace, a reflection of our artistic sophistication. The richness and diversity of Sofia's cultural monuments were revealed to the German guests through a "treasure hunt" game, linked to the humorous image of Bay Ganyo.

The students got to know both our daily life and the nightlife of the capital, remaining charmed by the hospitality, unity, and organization of the Sofia local group! The exciting return visit by the Bulgarian students to Darmstadt is yet to take place!

The project's organizational team also included Tanya Petkova (President of ESTIEM LG Sofia), Ivan Dimitrov (Vice President for Finance of ESTIEM LG Sofia), Tanya Petkova and Dostin Ivanov in the creation of PR materials, Viktor Dostinov and Viktor Vukev in the conception and implementation of the "treasure hunt" game, which provided an interesting way to explore historical monuments, Tanya Nikolova, and Ivelin Hristov.

On April 10, 2024, the latest edition of the ESTIEM Meets event took place in the "Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov" Hall in Block 8 of TU-Sofia, introducing university students to the innovative Bulgarian company Dronamics! The meeting was organized by the student organization ESTIEM - local group Sofia, hosted by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics “Mechatronics and Clean Technologies”.

During the presentation, led by Elisavet Stamu - Senior Quality Engineer at Dronamics - the students learned more about the company's activities. This was followed by an overview and interesting discussion, and participants had the opportunity to see a fully functional prototype of the Black Swan, used for conducting tests at Dronamics.

Dronamics is the world's first cargo drone airline. With the mission to make air transport more accessible, Dronamics designs, manufactures, and operates innovative remotely piloted aircraft (drones), called Black Swan, capable of transporting cargo up to 350 kg over long distances (up to 2500 km) faster, cheaper, and more sustainably than traditional methods.
