The Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management was established in 1990 as a result of an intergovernmental agreement between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany. Training at the Faculty is carried out entirely according to German curricula, in German, by both German and Bulgarian lecturers. They provide valuable knowledge to students in the following programs:
- Computer Systems and Technologies (in German, in collaboration with the University of Magdeburg). This is a 4-year bachelor’s degree program (8 semesters, including a 20-week practical training);
- Business Informatics (in German, in collaboration with the University of Magdeburg). This is a 4-year bachelor’s degree program (8 semesters, including a 20-week practical training);
- Mechatronics and Information Technics (in German, in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). This is a 4-year bachelor’s degree program (including a 20-week practical training);
- Computer Systems and Technologies (in German, in collaboration with the University of Magdeburg). This is a 3-semester master’s degree program for candidates who hold a university degree in technical or natural sciences.
- Industrial Management (in German, in collaboration with Technical University of Braunschweig). This is a 5-semester master’s degree program for candidates who hold a university degree in technical or natural sciences.
- Business Administration (MBA) (in German, in collaboration with FOM Hochschule Essen). This is a paid 5-semester master’s degree program for candidates with a completed higher education.
For over 30 years, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports studies at the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management. Thanks to this partnership, numerous labs, including computer ones, have been built and equipped in line with German standards. Moreso, there is an impressive library with over 10 000 volumes of textbooks and scientific literature, as well as subscriptions to 20 academic journals.
A testament to the quality of education at the Faculty is the fact that graduates receive German degrees from the partner universities involved in the program.
