The Department of "Control Systems", as part of the Faculty of Electronics and Automation, trains students in the specialty "Automation, Information and Control Engineering" (AICE). The Department offers undergraduate and master's programs. The main goal of training students in the AICE specialty is to prepare them as highly qualified automation engineers. The knowledge acquired by AICE students provides the necessary foundation for developing and applying methods, technical and software tools for the design, implementation, and maintenance of automatic control systems for technological processes and objects, production mechanisms, and devices. 

An integral part of the Department's operation is scientific research, through which faculty members and students monitor and participate in the contemporary development of technologies in the field of automatic control systems. The scientific research activity of the Department of "Control Systems" is focused on four scientific directions: "Theory of Automatic Control", "Intelligent Control and Robotics", "Industrial Automation", and "Electric Drives".

The faculty members of the Department also teach students in the undergraduate and master's programs of the following specialties:

 Various disciplines have been developed, such as "Theory of Management I", "Theory of Automatic Control", "Automation", "Modeling and Simulation", "Elements and Devices of Industrial Automation", "Computer Integrated Manufacturing", "Industrial Electronics and Electric Drives", "Electromechanical Systems", "Electric Drives". Specifically developed for the needs of students are also the created "Practicum in Informatics", "Analysis and Synthesis of Systems", "Automation of Printing Production", "Control Systems", "Process Control and Production Automation", "Robotics and Automation Technologies", "Automated Electric Drives", and "Programmable Logic Controllers".

The Department of "Control Systems" maintains collaboration with global companies such as SIEMENS, OMRON, AMK, Panasonic, COMECO, EVN, MILARA, and others. As a result, the department has educational laboratories equipped with modern technical equipment and stands from partner companies. The department's modern material and technical base supports the educational process and scientific research activities.
The Department is a partner in the international program for the exchange of teachers and students Socrates-Erasmus. Bilateral agreements are in force with technical universities from Greece and the Czech Republic.
