Denis Ismetov, Ivian Stoyanov, and Aleksandar Kolchev impressed investors and students
A student team from the Technical University of Sofia won the audience award at the first edition of STARTUP FAIR at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT). The forum took place on November 13, 2025, and brought together 39 Bulgarian startup companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and students.
The SolarBlinds project features innovative blinds that simultaneously function as solar energy panels. The team, which includes Denis Ismetov from the Faculty of Economics, Ivian Stoyanov from the Faculty of Automation, and Aleksandar Kolchev from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Technologies, received one-third of all votes in the online poll, BTA reported.
"It was an honor for us to be part of this inspiring event, which provided an opportunity to present the development of SolarBlinds and meet new partners and like-minded individuals," the team shared.
Awards and Recognition
SolarBlinds received a statuette from the Stone Center and a special award worth 10,000 leva – services in the fields of business, marketing, and law from Founder Center and Pleggi. According to the team, the project was also honored with a special award from Forbes Bulgaria magazine. "Entrepreneurship is a game that never ends. There is no finish line, no moment when we can say: I have achieved everything," said Tsvetelin Nikolov, organizer and inspiration behind the forum, quoted by BTA.
The Forum United Science and Business
STARTUP FAIR at ULSIT brought together innovators, scientists, and business representatives in a shared space. According to organizer Tsvetelin Nikolov, 80 percent of the participating companies have established clients and a valuation of over 1 million euros.
Within the framework of the forum, a university hackathon was also held, in which 38 participants from UniBIT generated ideas and created prototypes for startup companies. The winner of this competition was the Fusion Reach startup team – first-year students Konstantin Tepavicharov, Ilya Pulyakhin, and Kaloyan Marinov.
